Hello! My name is Cris, I am 29 years old now, Brazilian, from Curitiba, where I lived most of my life.
There I got my degree in Industrial Design, and had my own company for a few years: two design and internet agencies.
I met Felipe at the University, 10 years ago, and we’ve been together for 7 years now. We were business partners once, but today our meetings are to decide the next destination, be it a country or a walk on Sunday.
About one year ago I sold what I had in Brazil to start a different life, in a different country, speaking a different language, in an island 12,000 km away from home. Today I live in Wellington, capital of New Zealand.
During the last year we’ve been traveling around both Islands in New Zealand, knowing better our “new home”. We’ve also been to Samoa, a little peace of tropical paradise in the middle of Pacific Ocean.
I have been the U.S. twice, where my uncle and godfather lives. I have also traveled widely within Brazil, my beloved country, my home, where I only don’t know the North region, yet.
Living so far from home has an advantage: there is a lot of world in the way. So before visiting Brazil, next summer, we will stop a few times in the way, passing by 15 countries in 6 months.
After reading many blogs, which have been helping us a lot with several travel tips (thanks RTW bloggers!), we decided to create ours as well.
The main purpose is to share our experiences with our families and friends. But it will be really cool if it also brings us new friends and can help other people who want to travel the world!

Hi, my name is Felipe, 29, Brazilian from Curitiba. I’ve been living in Wellington, New Zealand for almost 2 years. Cris is my partner, friend and the person who gives sense to my life, we’re going to get married early next year.
I’m an interactive designer, I used to own an internet agency back in Brazil, but since I moved to New Zealand I’m enjoying this employee’s cruising life.
I like to travel, meet different people and different cultures, I enjoy to surf when there are some decent waves, and often I go snorkelling, snowboarding and other activities close to the nature. I’m not the materialist kind of person. Sometimes I’m a bit irresponsible taking care of my friendships and family relations, often I spend lot of time without sending a single email, but I love all of them.

Jovens pra lá de especiais, com cabeça de adulto e espírito de criança. Amigos que fazem com que qquer momento juntos (mmo que seja pelo msn!), seja a melhor viagem de todas. Pq viagem, é se divertir, é conhecimento, e acima de td, auto-conhecimento.
Eu tbém ganho com essa linda viagem de vcs! Afinal, temos mais que uma simples amizade… Temos uma ligação de almas!

Confesso que a emoção, aliada a saudade, que tenho de vcs. toma conta no momento que vi o blog porém, também se faz presente o orgulho, a satisfação em ver que vossos sonhos estão se materializando. E, cá com meus botões, me questiono: que mais pode querer um pai? senão a felicidade de seus filhos estejam aonde estiver.
Que o Grande Arquiteto do Universo, que é Deus, continue abençoando e iluminando vosso caminho e que possam sempre navegar em mar calmo e de paz e, se por um instante, pintar uma tormenta que ela seja, com seu vagalhões, a temperança necessária para forticar o amor que os une e a crença de que sempre haverá um porto seguro para a conquista de vossos objetivos, cuja realização é o maior de meus desejos.

Have a nice trip!
What better than a nice trip!? You know when you feel full of everything and everybody around you and you think that the only way to escape this situation is go away!? But at the same time you feel afraid to left behind all you have done and all the people you really care about. Well, chatting with some friends (pelife, goedi, and llana) in a bar called Carioca, I have decided to “kick the bucket” and have a nice trip. Cross the great scenery of humanity and nature, meeting different people, different places, different culture. Resuming, meeting the different or just have a nice trip.
At the beginning all is nice and you can say this is a new life, and really is. But the time pass and you realize that the way of living of humans are basically the same in all around the world. Than you stop and think: What am I doing here? Why did I come here? Where are all my friends, my family? I know a lot of people but at the same time I don´t know them and they don´t know me! I AM ALONE!!!!
But been alone is not that bad and life is kind of been alone on a boat out on the ocean! A good thing of been alone on a boat is that people come and people go around you they have to ask permission to board on your boat. And you just let come who you really want. If you feel sad, bad or not happy with that place, you can always pick up the anchor, sail away and have a nice trip. And is in this moment you realize you are really free to do what you want and to go where you want.
But why have a nice trip alone? Off course travel alone you get a good self-knowledge, but why not travel with that person who know you much, and will always be by you side!? Guys, do you know what you are gonna do!? Have a nice trip around the World. Meet the different once more, meet different people, different places, different foods, and all of it with you best partner!
Have a nice trip, fellows! Can wait to see your faces in this side of the world. And belive me, you will see that your hometown is different as well! After all, where can you eat “pinhão” and drink “quentão” and this world!?

Meus queridos filhos:
Em algum momento da minha vida profissional (há uns 12 anos) tive a oportunidade de trabalhar com grupos de pessoas que estavam prestes a se aposentar e invariavelmente, a grande maioria, dizia ser o seu maior desejo, quando aposentados, fazer uma viagem.
Que bom que vocês não precisarão esperar tanto!!!!!
Pois naquela fase da vida, se consegue o tempo tão esperado, mas nem sempre se tem a saúde e disposição para aproveitar o sonho adiado.
Vocês conquistaram essa grande oportunidade, com esforço e sabedoria. Cada passo estudado e calculado. O mérito é todo de vocês, por isso curtam cada minuto dessa aventura maravilhosa, desse mundo novo que vai se descortinando a cada dia diante de seus olhos.
Registrem tudo (nem precisa dizer) para podermos “viajar” juntos depois, para mostrar aos seus filhos um dia e certamente para fazer parte da coleção de outras tantas viagens que farão.
Esta será somente a primeira de muitas outras, tenho certeza.
Que Deus os abençõe e proteja em todos os momentos dessa feliz caminhada.
No final (não bem final) estarei aqui esperando por vocês.

Olá Felipe, como vão as coisas?
Eu estou querendo mudar para a NZ, trabalho com design, ultimamente estava fazendo uns documentários aqui em Ouro Preto, coisas sobre história.
Gostaria de saber se existe espaço aí para isso. Trabalho com Mac a uns 15 anos, estes programas todos de design mais o Final Cut e o Motion, além de ser um músico + ou - , fiz uns arranjos para um documentário que a gente fez aqui.
Mas aqui falta apoio e dinheiro, muito difícil de conseguir, assim resolvi virar empregado mesmo e tentar alguma coisa fora daqui.
Acha que com este currículo eu consigo alguma coisa aí?

Olá Cris e Felipe…
Também sou Cris e, além disso, temos outra coisa em comum, esse desejo em conhecer novos lugares. Eu e meu namorado (Maurício) somos de São Paulo e decidimos ir para a Nova Zelândia, conhecer e tentar a vida por lá. Vamos para Wellington, assim como vocês, no final de outubro. Tenho lido muitos blogs para me informar sobre como é a vida por lá e fico cada vez mais animada!
Sei que vocês estão viajando, mas resolvi tentar um contato para, quem sabe, saber ainda mis informações sobre a vida na capital neozelandesa.
