Information is the key

I’ve always dreamed of travelling the world, but never like this, so many countries at once. Planning a trip with a single destination used to be hard enough, several at once and for so long, no way!

After coming to New Zealand and taking the first step, I realised that we are actually used to think that everything is complicated, when it is actually quite simple. The hardest part (and more important) is to get informed… and nowadays, with Google, it is not that difficult!

When I was going to Samoa I was thinking “what a dream.. back in Brazil I’d never thought to go to a place like this” but Samoa is New Zealand’s neighbour.. in Brazil it is like going to Uruguay, and why the hell have I never been to Uruguay? Certainly not because it was not possible.. it was me, that didn’t know that it was possible.. and so easy! Besides the famous law of inertia…

Lately it’s becoming super common to hear people saying to me “where are you travelling to? around the world? 6 months? wow! you must be rich!” No, we are not rich. We are just well informed.

I had already heard of this “round the world ticket” when I was in Brazil, but I thought that it was only possible to buy it from New Zealand, Australia or UK. When I got here I saw a huge ad at a travel agency with promotional prices for this kind of tickets. Outside the store, there was the last folder on a shelf, and I ran to get it before it was gone. I brought it home, opened in the middle part where there was a very large ‘Miss Round the World’ and fixed it on the wall of the room, exactly in front of the bed, so I could wake up and go to sleep looking at it.
It was then that travelling the world passed from the dream status to the goal status. But it was still a very distant goal.. we researched something here, another there.. but nothing very concrete, after all, we are not rich.

The whole thing changed when we met another Brazilian couple who had just come back from a one year trip around the world. They also used to live in New Zealand, left their jobs, and spent one year experiencing, seeing, learning. But it was when they told us how much money they had spent that it seemed everything was lit! That distant goal had just become reality… and I was already having butterflies in my stomach. Rose and Juliano, thank you dear!! Now you know how important you were for this trip to happen!

From then on it only depended on ourselves.. researches, spreadsheets, more researches and more spreadsheets. So that’s it, we will do it this year!! Why wait? And after many other tips from Rose, Juliano and several online-travellers-writers everything started looking so much easier…

And yes, you can buy the ticket from anywhere in the world! Even from Brazil.
The thing now is taking care of the law of inertia.. so it keeps us on the move…

    Cris&Felipe
É isso aí…vocês (e nós todos) podemos realizar tudo aquilo que quisermos, sonharmos, planejarmos e essa viagem vai ser bárbara. Vou acompanha-los passo a passo.
Se precisarem de qualquer coisa por favor é só falar.

“When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all of your thoughts break their bonds: your mind trancends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction and you find yourself in a new, great and wonderful word. Dormant forces, faculties and talents become alive and you discover yourself to be a greater person than you ever dreamed yourself to be”
